The Association of Development Financing Institutions in the Pacific (ADFIP) was established in 1986 to promote the interest of all members, to advance cooperation and to establish a machinery for the systematic exchange of information among members. It also aims to carry out studies on commonly experienced problems and training of staff thereby improving the expertise and effectiveness of member DFIs.
An Annual Conference, which is rotated between member countries, is attended by the Chief Executives of ADFIP’s member development financing institutions and by invited guests from interested organizations. The Annual General Meetings of ADFIP and ADFIP Trustee Limited are held during the Annual Conference.
The ADFIP Secretariat is based at the Fiji Development Bank, Suva, Fiji. Under the supervision of the Secretary ADFIP, the Secretariat staff coordinates all activities of the Association and manages its finances. From the time of ADFIP’s establishment, Fiji Development Bank has funded the operating costs of the Secretariat.
The Association of Development Financing Institutions in the Pacific (ADFIP) aims to provide the highest standard of recognized professional services to its members. ADFIP will anticipate and effectively respond to changes and create opportunities for the future advancement of each DFI. The increased prosperity will enhance the economic development of Pacific Island nations.
Our mission is to conduct ADFIP’s activities with integrity addressing current social and economic concerns. We will provide the resources and services appropriate to assist in the technical and professional operation of member organizations of the Association of Development Financing Institutions in the Pacific. Through the shared commitment and dedication of ADFIP members and secretariat staff, we aim to anticipate and effectively respond to current trends and changes. We shall maintain the highest quality of performance and service towards the coordination and mobilization of resources. We will provide training, conferences, exchanges and advisory services to ADFIP members and other organizations who pursue the goal of advancement and increased prosperity of the Pacific Islands.
